Papers of the Wolcott family [manuscript], 1845-1856.

The collection contains transcripts of Roger Wolcott's diary of the siege of Louisbourg, 1745 May 30 to July 31, together with his autobiography and religious reflections. Transcripts of correspondence of the Griswold, Rogers, Williams and Woodbridge families of Connecticut include letters of Roger Griswold to his brother Matthew concerning affairs in Congress, the Jefferson - Burr conflict, the Louisiana purchase and foreign relations, and letters from Joseph Williams to William Colt, 1775 September 3 -1776 November 9, on business matters but conveying information on the siege of Boston and evacuation of New York.
